Veterinary Receptionist - Healthy Pet Altoona and Healthy Pet Rice Lake 

Healthy Pet Altoona and Healthy Pet Rice Lake are seeking a full time or part time receptionist.  Receptionists are responsible for relaying a tremendous amount of information to our clients and potential clients. They are the face of the hospital and the primary contact for most clients.  Reception duties include maintaining office inventory, answering phone calls and relaying messages, scheduling appointments (more difficult than it sounds), maintaining a clean lobby,  taking payment for our services, billing and invoicing, and reminding clients of their upcoming appointments. 

A friendly, compassionate, and patient person is ideal for this job. Good computer skills are a must as our scheduling software can be difficult to learn. 

Wage is based on experience. Starting receptionist wage is 16/hr

Certified Veterinary Technician or Experienced Veterinary Assistant - Altoona, Chetek, and Rice Lake

Healthy Pet Animal Hospitals are looking to add a full time and part time certified veterinary technicians to our team at all three locations. Our Certified Technicians are the backbone of our practice, and we demand a lot from them. Our Technicians are not glorified animal restrainers, you will use all of your skills from venipuncture, running our in house laboratory, taking digital radiographs, utilizing digital dental radiographs, assisting with surgery, helping with our exotic patients, and even assisting with chemotherapy. Not sure about any of those tasks? We are more than happy to train people in. 

Please note that we have a lot of fun at work; those without a good sense of humor should not apply.

All full time employees are eligible for our Health Care Plan, where we cover 100% of the premiums. CVT's are given a $500 dollar stipend every  year for CE credits. The Hospital will pay for your license renewal. After 1 year the hospital will contribute 3% to your 401K (we will help you create one if needed). 10 days of PTO are given after 3 months, with 1.5 additional days given each year of employment. A maximum of 15 PTO days are given to full time technicians, and 12 days are given to part time technicians.

Technicians at the Animal Hospital of Chetek perform all the following tasks:

Appointment check in

Answer phones/scheduling

Restraint
Nail Trims
Administration of oral, SC, IM, and IV medications
Venipuncture
IV Catheter Placement
Digital Radiography (including digital dental radiographs)
Ultrasound Prep
In House blood chemistry
Heartworm and Fecal testing
Surgical preparation
Surgical assistance

Anesthetic Monitoring

We can teach those that are not familiar with digital radiographs, electronic medical records, and ultrasound; however comfort and competence in surgical assistance and drug calculations is a must.

Hours: Average 38 hours /week scheduled, most will go an hour or so over their scheduled hours.
Hours and days available include Monday through Friday 7:30 - 5:30, with one weekday off per week. All weekdays include a 1 hour lunch break taken between 12-1 or 1-2. We also work every 3rd Saturday from 8am to 2pm. 

Pay is based on experience and skill. All assistants and technicians will earn between 16 - 23/hr.

Kennel Assistant - Healthy Pet Chetek

Healthy Pet Chetek is looking for an individual to help us care for animals and keep our hospital clean.

Job Duties include: Laundry, General cleaning and mopping, walking dogs, and helping to care for sick and injured animals. And yes, you will get to play with puppies and kittens on occasion. 

Available Hours: are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 4/4:30 pm - 6/6:30 pm and Every other weekend Friday 4:30 - 6:30, Saturday 8am - 2pm, Saturday evening 6pm-8pm (Saturday evening hours are a little flexible).  Sunday Morning 8am - 10am (Sunday morning hours are also flexible), and Sunday Evening from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm.

Feel free to apply for any of the available shifts. Priority will be given to those who can cover weekend shifts.  

Many of our current assistants and technicians started off by working in our kennels. This is great job for those looking to get started in this field. We will teach you to safely restrain animals, draw up vaccinations, administer medications, and much more.
